Relay based PC Controlled Home Automation System with ATmega16-I Project Kit is a kind of Home Automation Kit where different home appliances like Bulb, Fan, TV and others are controlled from a PC. For controlling different home appliances, here we are using relay.

The home appliances can be controlled by sending predefined characters from the PCthrough its keyboard. Here, we will control 4 appliances, two Bulbs and two Fans. For each home appliances, two characters are assigned, one to turn-on the appliance and other to turn-off the appliance. Apart from these characters, two more characters are assigned, one to turn-on all appliances at a time and the other to turn-off all appliances at a time. So, all total 10 characters are used to control 4 appliances(Two Bulbs and two Fans).The control characters for 4 appliances are shown below:-

This Home Automation Kit is built using AVR ATmega16 Microcontroller, Quad Realy Driver, Home Appliances Kit(2 Bulbs and 2 fans), RS-232 Drive and USB to Serial Cable.

The ATmega16 Microcontroller of this kit is preprogrammed with the Relay based PC Controlled Home Automation System with ATmega16-I code and all the interconnections are made before shipping the project kit.
