Password Protected Relay based PC Controlled Wireless Home Automation System with ATmega16 using Zig Bee-I Project Kit is a kind of Secured Wireless Home Automation Kit where different home appliances like Bulb, Fan, TV and others are controlled wirelessly from a PC through Zig Bee. For controlling different home appliances, here we are using relay.

Before any home appliances can be controlled, a password needs to be entered into the Home Automation system to gain access of appliance control. After the correct password has been entered, the appliances can be controlled else the system keeps asking for the password. The home appliances can be controlled wirelessly by sending predefined characters from a PCthrough Zig Bee. Here, we will control 4 appliances, two Bulbs and two Fans. For each home appliances, two characters are assigned, one to turn-on the appliance and other to turn-off the appliance. Apart from these characters, two more characters are assigned, one to turn-on all appliances at a time and the other to turn-off all appliances at a time. So, all total 10 characters are used to control 4 appliances(Two Bulbs and two Fans).The control characters for 4 appliances are shown below:-

This Home Automation Kit is built using AVR ATmega16 Microcontroller, Quad Realy Driver, Home Appliances Kit(2 Bulbs and 2 fans) and a Zig Bee. The Password Protected Relay based PC Controlled Wireless Home Automation System with ATmega16 using Zig Bee-I Project Kit has a range of 150m with clear line of sight and has an Indoor range of 40m.
