Password Protected Keypad based Speed and Direction Control of DC Motor with ATmega16-I Project Kit

Password Protected Keypad based Speed and Direction Control of DC Motor with ATmega16-I Project Kit is a kind of Secured DC Motor Speed and Direction Control Kit where the DC Motor Speed and Direction are controlled by pressing predefined keys of a 4X4 Keypad. To run the DC Motor in desired speed and direction, first the user has to enter the password through the 4X4 Keypad.

Once the correct password is entered, the DC Motor can be started/stopped, direction can be set in clockwie/anticlockwise direction and speed can be changed by pressing predefined keys of the 4X4 Keypad. The direction of the DC Motor can be changed only when the DC Motor is in running state. The direction change keys will not work when the motor is in stopped condition. Here, 6 keys of a Mobile keypad are used to control the DC Motor. The function of these 6 keys are:- 100% speed, 50% speed, 25% speed, 0%(stop), clockwise rotation, anticlockwise rotation of the DC motor. By default, when the DC Motor starts at any speed, DC Motor will rotate in clockwise direction. Also, the speed and direction of rotation of the DC Motor are displayed in a 16X2 Alphanumeric LCD continuously. The control keys to control the speed and direction of the DC Motor are shown below:-

4 Stop(0% Speed)
5 Clockwise Rotation
6 Anti-Clockwise Rotation


This DC Motor Control Kit is built using AVR ATmega16 Microcontroller, DC Motor Driver, 4X4 Keypad, DC Motor and 16X2 Alphanumeric LCD.
