Accelerometer based Hand Gesture Controlled Wireless DC Motor with ATmega16 using Series 2 Zig Bee-I Project Kit

Accelerometer based Hand Gesture Controlled Wireless DC Motor with ATmega16 using Series 2 Zig Bee-I Project Kit is a kind of Wireless DC Motor Control Kit where the DC Motor is controlled wirelessly through different hand gestures using Accelerometer Sensor and Zig Bee. The Accelerometer Sensor is a MEMS sensor used to detect different static and Dynamic Acceleration parameters. Here, it is used to detect tilt of hand.

The DC Motor can be started or stopped wirelessly by posing predefined Hand Gestures using accelerometer sensor and Zig Bee. Also the direction of the DC Motor can also be changed from clockwise to anticlockwise and vice versa when the DC Motor is running state. The direction change keys will not work when the motor is in stopped condition. Here, 4 different hand gestures are used to control the DC Motor. The function of these 4 hand gestures are:- to start, to stop , to change direction from clockwise to  anticlockwise and to change the direction from anticlockwise to clockwise direction of the DC motor. By default, when the DM Motor starts, DC Motor will rotate in clockwise direction. Also, the status and direction of rotation of the DC Motor is displayed in a 16X2 Alphanumeric LCD continuously. The control hand gestures to control the DC Motor are shown below:-

Forward Tilt Start
Backward Tilt Stop
Left Tilt Clockwise
Right Tilt Anti-clockwise
No Tilt No Changes


This DC Motor Control Kit is built using AVR ATmega16 Microcontroller, DC Motor Driver, Accelerometer Sensor, DC Motor, Zig Bee and 16X2 Alphanumeric LCDs.
