Accelerometer and Relay based Hand Gesture Controlled Home Automation System with ATmega16 Project Kit

Accelerometer and Relay based Hand Gesture Controlled Home Automation System with ATmega16 Project Kit is a kind of Wireless Home Automation Kit where different home appliances like Bulb, Fan, TV and others are controlled through different hand gestures using Accelerometer Sensor. The Accelerometer Sensor is a MEMS sensor used to detect different static and Dynamic Acceleration parameters. Here, it is used to detect tilt of hand. For controlling different home appliances, her we are using relay.

The home appliances can be controlled by posing predefined Hand Gestures using accelerometer sensor. Here, we will control 4 appliances, two Bulbs and two Fans. For each home appliances, one predefined Hand Gesture is used. Each time the predefined Hand Gesture of an appliance is posed, the status of that appliance changes from On to Off and Off to On. Any changes in the status of any of the 4 appliances are displayed in a 16X2 alphanumeric LCD. The control Hand Gestures for 4 appliances are shown below:-

Right Tilt	Fan 2 Changes Status
No Tilt	No Changes

This Home Automation Kit is built using AVR ATmega16 Microcontroller, Quad Realy Driver, Accelerometer Sensor, Home Appliances Kit(2 Bulbs and 2 fans) and a 16X2 Alphanumeric LCD.

The ATmega16 Microcontroller of this kit is preprogrammed with the Accelerometer and Relay based Hand Gesture Controlled Home Automation System with ATmega16 code and all the interconnections are made before shipping the project kit.
